New Feature: How to group video call on WhatsApp

WhatsApp supports free video calling over Wi-Fi or mobile data, even to contacts living overseas. Here's how to make individual or group video calls on WhatsApp.

 

In the past you've needed to use a third-party app to make group video calls with your WhatsApp contacts, but now the functionality is available within the app for iPhone and Android. (If you can't find it you should update your app.) Here's how to video call multiple WhatsApp contacts at once.

How to video call on WhatsApp

• Open a WhatsApp conversation
• Tap the video camera at the top right of the window
• The video call will automatically commence and the recipient's phone will ring

How to group video call on WhatsApp

• Open a WhatsApp conversation
• Tap the video camera at the top right of the window
• The video call will automatically commence and the recipient's phone will ring
• Once your recipient has answered, tap the add user icon at the top right corner of the screen
• Select a second recipient to add them to the call
• Once they have joined you can also add a third recipient
